New FCC Broadband Map Version 3 Released

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has released Version 3 of the Broadband Map – available here. This map reflects broadband availability data as of June 30, 2023.

These latest updates show a significant reduction in areas without high-speed broadband, decreasing from 8.3 million to 7.2 million locations. This progress is largely attributed to initiatives like the FCC’s Rural Digital Opportunity Fund, Connect American Fund, and various other federal, state, and private programs.

For broadband service providers, navigating these changes presents unique opportunities and challenges. Our telecommunications consultants offer expert guidance to help providers effectively engage with these developments. We specialize in understanding the complexities of the FCC’s database for broadband serviceable locations as it continues to evolve.

The upcoming $42.5 billion Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program, overseen by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) and allocated by states based on the FCC’s data, presents a significant opportunity for providers. Our team can help guide you, ensuring you are well positioned to take advantage of these state-administered funds. Reach out to Zachary Cochran for more information.
