Mike is a Principal in the Tax Department of the Roseville office of Olsen Thielen and has extensive experience assisting individuals, estates, trusts, and corporations in tax planning designed to minimize current and future income tax liabilities and ensure funds for future needs and generations. He has extensive experience working in the manufacturing, distribution, and retail industries.
Experience
- Advises on business structuring, ownership succession, generational transfers as well as corporate, partnership, and individual tax planning and consulting
- Consults with individuals, families, and closely-held businesses on tax matters, i.e. business purchases, mergers, and sales
- Planning and compliance experience in the areas of estate, gift, and fiduciary taxation
- Prepares and reviews corporate, partnership, trust, and individual tax returns
- Reviews and consults with clients in areas of deferred compensation, employment, and buy-sell agreements
- Provides corporate and individual representation before the Internal Revenue Service, Minnesota Department of Revenue, and other state jurisdictions
- Experience working in the accounting department of a metal manufacturer
